الدكتور مكرم عباس أستاذ جامعي في المدرسة العليا في ليون بفرنسا وهو يضطلع حاليا بمهام مدير المركز الفرنسي للأبحاث في شبه الجزيرة العربية. تهتم أبحاثه بمجالات الفكر السياسي في الإسلام كالآداب السلطانية وكتابات الفلاسفة (كابن رشد والفارابي) عن المدينة الفاضلة، إضافة إلى قضايا الحرب والسلم والعلاقة بين الدين والسياسة في الحضارة العربية الإسلامية. من ضمن مؤلفاته كتاب “الإسلام والسياسة في العصر الوسيط” (2009) والترجمة الفرنسية لكتاب الماوردي “تسهيل النظر وتعجيل الظفر في أخلاق الملك وسياسة الملك” وكتاب “الفلسفة السياسية وفنون الحكم في الإسلام” (2021).
Dr. Makram Abbas is a university professor at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de France, a centre that currently assumes the functions of the French director of research in the Arabian Peninsula. His research is concerned with the fields of political thought in Islam such as royal literature and the writings of philosophers (such as Ibn Rushd and Al-Farabi) on the utopia, in addition to issues of war and peace and their relationship to politics in Arab civilization. Among his books are “Islam and Politics in the Middle Ages” (2009) and the French translation of Al Mawardi’s book “Facilitating Consideration and Accelerating Victory within the Morals of the King and the Politics of Kingship”, as well as “Political Philosophy and the Arts of Government in Islam” (2021)
