On 5th December, an exhibition entitled “Blossoms and Blades: Treasures of the Mughal Court (16th–19th c.) from The al-Sabah Collection at al-Athar al-Islamiyyah was opened by the Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, HE Dr. Mohammad al- Jassar and the Director General of the China Museums Authority, Mr. Tan Ping, at the Shenzhen Museum. The inauguration was attended by H.E. Turki Al-Turki, Consul General of Kuwait in Guangzhou, and distinguished delegations from both countries.
The exhibition features 143 rare masterpieces shown for the first time in Shenzhen before touring other Chinese cities, continuing the cultural legacy of the late Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah with the support of Sheikha Hussa Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
Guests were welcomed with opening remarks by Mr. Kai Huiyao, Deputy Director of Shenzhen Museum, highlighting the significance of Kuwait–China cultural cooperation, followed by a tour of the galleries and an exchange of cultural gifts.
The exhibition showcases jeweled weapons, crystal objects, royal jewelry, and historical manuscripts reflecting the splendor of the Mughal court across four centuries.
