Where in Kuwait can you discover more than three thousand years of art and culture from the geography of Islam? Only at the Amricani Cultural Centre, where exhibitions reveal history from the dawn of civilization to modern architecture in Kuwait.
The al-Sabah Collection of objects from the geography of the Islamic world is widely recognised as one of the leading collections in the world. Founder of the collection, Sheikh Nasser Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah (1948 – 2020) was known to have “the eye”. He could look at an array of objects and pick out the “gem” nestled among objects of lesser import. As a result, the collection includes extraordinary objects from the region’s history and are in demand for exhibitions around the world. This season, objects from The al-Sabah Collection are on loan in the UAE, the US and the UK. When you’re out and about, check out these exhibitions.
